Janet Booth, I am researching the
HIRON family (my maiden name is HIRON) and have traced the family as far back as John Franklin HIRON living in Blockley in 1851 (the census of that year shows him there).  John Franklin was my great great grandfather.  I have discovered links to the FRANKLIN and HICKMAN families through family names.  John Franklin's father was called Samuel and I have not discovered any more at present. John Franklin HIRON had amongst his children 2 sons, one Samuel and one Russell (my great grandfather).  They were on the Chipping Campden census of 1861.  Samuel married a Mary BOWYER at Marston Montgomery Derbyshire in 1873 and had a son Samuel.  Russell married Mary's younger sister Catherine Sarah also at Marston Montgomery on 19th January 1880 in Marston Montgomery church.  They had 3 children Henry Bowyer HICKMAN (my grandfather), Lilian and Ida.  Russell and Samuel both appeared on the 1881 census at the Bowyer farm in Marston Montgomery and Russell and his wife Catherine were in the 1891 census together with Lilian and Ida but were now living at 18 Windmill Hill Lane, Derby.

Dave Nobbs, "Seeking information on the parents and grandparents of 4
NOBES brothers. Wiliam married Sarah BEECHY in 1858, John married Dorcas HAINES in 1854, Frederick married Maria JAMES in 1868 and Edwin married Jane COX, year unknown. All marriages were in the Shipston area (Blockley). Their parents were probably Joseph and Sarah (nee HALLOWAY) NOBES, and their paternal grandparents were just possibly Thomas and Catherine (nee WINTER) NOBES. I am in contact with descendants of a John NOBBS who married Sarah MASON in 1829 at Blockley, the surname spelling seems to have alternated between NOBES and NOBBS in the early 19th century.

Anne Berresford.
Researching the
BALDWIN, LYNE, MACE & MASON families. James LYNE of Ilmington married and had 3 chilldren b Blockley or Shipston depending on which census. William about 1821, Jemima about 1824 and Mary about 1826. He also had 2 children born London: Eliza b1831 and James about 1833. Jemima married William MASON, Blockley 1844. Eliza married Henry MACE, Blockley 1851. I don't know who his wife was. I would be interested in any information. She must have died because in 1838, James LYNE (widower) married Jane BALL in Blockley (father John). James and Jane LYNE had a daughter Anne, born Blockley 1840. On the birth certificate Anne's mother was Jane BALDWIN. On 1841 census, Elizabeth BALDWIN 75yr was living with the family. Jane BALDWIN bap Blockley 1804, mother Elizabeth and father John. I think there may have been an error on the marriage entries.
