Betsy Verrent Harvey. Inside the church of St Lawrence there is alist of the men from the village who fell in the Great War of 1914-1918. Near the bottom of the list is the name of my uncle David
VERRENT. I do have the details of when he was killed and where he is buried. What I am hoping you can help me with is, where he lived and worked in the village. I know that he was a gardener by profession. Could it have been Hidcote Manor Gardens? David Verrent was my father's brother, and he was from Ireland.

Charles Mudd, I am attempting to determine whether John and Hannah
HANCOCK of Mickelton might have been my ancestor's parents. My Frederick James HANCOCK was born in June 1821 in England. He was a cordwainer and ran away from home to New York. John and Hannah HANCOCK apparently had child Frederick who was baptised on 12 June 1821. Does anyone have any information or any resources to check for me? This would be an exciting development.
Frederick James left pre-1850.

Ashton Jarvis, I am researching my paternal grandmother, Sarah Jane
JARVIS, nee KECK. Her family originated from Mickleton and the surrounding area. I have researched the KECK family and found connections to her mother and father Martha Matilda ROGERS and Charles KECK. Further connections to William KECK / Hannah CASTLE and Robert CASTLE / Anne BISHOP have been made dating back to the mid 18th century. Any further connections prior to this time of the KECK family would be most welcome.

Gwen Sunderson, Researching the
BENNETT and PORTER families, I have done a fair amount of research on the BENNETT and PORTER surnames in Mickleton and surrounding villages. My immigrant ancestor was Charles PORTER BENNETT, son of Mary PORTER and John BENNETT, who came to America in 1830. I have been able to trace the PORTER line back several generations, but am still seeking information on the BENNETT line. I am in possession of letters written to Charles by his maiden sister, Hannah BENNETT, dating from 1836 up to her death in 1893. I am very interested in sharing information with anyone researching these two surnames.

Richard Young. My great-grandfather was George
JARRETT who, according to the 1881 Census was born in Mickleton around 1836. He later became a railway labourer and moved to Bearley, Warwickshire. His son, Frank JARRETT then moved to Claverdon, Warwickshire, which is where my grandfather, Ernest JARRETT was brought up. I visited the graveyard of St Lawrence church in Mickleton in 2001 and there were many JARRETT headstones still legible.
