Joye was one of the witnesses, and no doubt the writer of the will. He was the chantry priest of Barnard's chantry of Our Lady in the church.
The really munificent charity left to Campden poor -- probably equal to £12 per annum now (1911) was no doubt confiscated at the Reformation or declared illegal as being coupled with a superstious use, viz. prayers for the soul.
