Made 3 December 1769

To son John PEACHEY all my estate of free land that I shall die possessed of to him and his heirs or assigns for ever.
If John dies before the age of 21, and leave no child, then all my estate of free land to kinsmen Giles PEACHEY and John PEACHEY the 2 sons of my brothers, and they are to pay the following legacies:
To brother Richard PEACHEY £5
To brother Giles PEACHEY £5
To sister Mary NORRIS £20.
These legacies to be paid within one year IF they enjoy my estate.
Son John PEACHEY to be executor.

To wife Elizabeth all estate of free land, houses, building, pastures & premises in Chedworth for her life. After her decease to my daughter Mary ROBBINS & her heirs forever.
Goods, chattels, household stuff and money to wife Elizabeth for life, and remainder of such to daughter Mary ROBBINS after her decease.
After death of Mary ROBBINS and her husband Robert ROBBINS, all free land, & remainder of goods to be equally divided between grandchildren, children of Robert & Mary ROBBINS.
From date hereof immediately to daughter Mary & her heirs for ever, with writings thereto belonging all the inclosed piece of land lying at a place called the Hooke hedg in the parish of Chedworth – by estimation 2 acres. And I will that this last mentioned inclosure shall be divident with the rest amongst the grandchildren.

To sister Jane PEACHEY all money due upon the book at my decease. Also £10 to be paid by executor within 12 months, and another £10 if she marries, to be paid within 6 months of her marriage.
Also to Jane PEACHEY, my sister, £2 due from John HALL of the parish of Coulsborne, also the rent of my Long Ground which will become due at Candlemas next from Joseph SLY, also my Little Table & an Iron Pot.

Richard PEACHEY of Chedworth, husbandman
Ann is his ‘now’ wife.
To son Joseph all house & backside adjoining to the BOUTCHERS (lately deceased) with 4 acres of land belonging to the house & one beast pasture.
To son Obadiah all Ten acres that came out of STEPHENS his living with 25 sheep pastures.
To daughter Luce all that 2 houses or tenements that I now live in with the houses, backside & garden belonging.
To son Daniel 20 shillings
To son Charles’ children 20 shillings to be divided between them.
To daughter Ann one shilling
Premises to be taken immediately after deaths of Richard & his now wife Ann.
Joseph, Obadiah & Luce to be joint executors.

1851 - The Will of Elizabeth Peachey

This is the last will and testament of me Elizabeth PEACHEY of the Parish of Chedworth Spinster which I do make and ordain in manner and form following.
First I order and direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses may be fully paid and satisfied as soon as may be after my decease for which I leave the sum of forty pounds in the hands of my executors hereinafter mentioned for the payment thereof. Then I give and bequeath unto my five neices viz Ann PEACHEY, Elizabeth LANDER, Rebecca CREW, Mary BRUNSDEN and Mary PEACHEY daughters of Thomas STEVENS, Samuel BRUNSDEN and John PEACHEY the sum of five pounds each to be paid to them by my executors herein after named within six months next after my decease.
Then I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred and thirty pounds unto my sister in law Sarah PEACHEY and her three sons and three daughters viz John PEACHEY, William PEACHEY, Philip PEACHEY, Elizabeth PEACHEY, Martha PEACHEY and Sarah PEACHEY sons and daughters of my brother Philip PEACHEY to be divided amongst them share and share alike to their own will and disposal forever having attended and waited on me for so many years. Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my sister in law Sarah PEACHEY and my neice Elizabeth PEACHEY joint executorix of this my will whom also I equally charge with the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the legacies herein before named out of my said property and I hereby revoke and disannul all and every other former will or wills by me at any time heretobefore made declaring this only to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this second day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.

Elizabeth PEACHEY died on 2 August 1853 and probate was granted on 31 December 1853. It was sworn to be of value under £200 and it was noted that there was no leasehold estate.
In the 1851 census Elizabeth PEACHEY, age 60 and reported as ill was living at Greenhill Farm with widow Sarah (husband Philip was buried on 22 March 1850 age 57), Elizabeth age 21, Martha age 18, Sarah age 15, Philip age 11 and Thomas TROTMAN a farm servant age 43.
