The Will of Thomas JOYNES, Farmer of Chedworth 1804

In the Name of God, Amen. I Thomas JOYNES of Woodlands Farm in the Parish of Chedworth in the County of Gloucester, Farmer, being in perfect health and sound perfect and disposing mind memory and understanding bless be to God do make constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say, First I humbly resign my Soul to God in hopes and full assurance of his mercies through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my blessed Lord and Saviour, as to my Body I desire it may be decently buried at the discretion and expense of my Executrix hereinafter mentioned, Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary now the wife of Humphrey PORTER, Farmer of Coates Farm in the Parish of Eastleach Martin in the said County of Gloucester the sum of thirty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to my daughter by my said Executrix at the full time term of one year after my decease. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth now the Wife of Thomas Faulkener HOLLIDAY, Farmer, in the Parish of Fulbrook in the County of Oxford the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain at the expiration of one Year after my decease to be then paid by my Executrix to my Daughter without any deduction whatsoever except what may in any case happwen by agreement between my said Executrix and my said Daughter. Item I nominate and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth to be my whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former Will and Wills by me hereto fore at any time made and also Willing and commanding my Executrix aforesaid to pay and discharge all my reasonable Debts and Funeral Expenses within the time my other legacies are to be paid and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this second day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and Four.

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of the undermentioned Witnesses at whose request and in whose presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands as Witnesses thereunto the day and Year first above written signed

Will made 6 Nov 1749 and proved 26 Jun 1750.
Wife Elizabeth to have free land for life.
Son William - his dwelling house, houses & meadow/ pasture ground called Salters - purchased from Robert ROBINS.
After Elizabeth's death, William to inherit the free land - and after
William's death, to Giles JOACHIM, grandson.
William jnr has siblings Robert, William, Matthew, Mary, and Sarah who is married to Thomas ROGERS.
Other grandchildren are Robert JOACHIM, William JOACHIM, Matthew JOACHIM & Mary JOACHIM.
Wife Elizabeth to be executrix.
