William SCOTFORD – Farm Labourer age 21 5' 2_" Date of Admission 22 April 1845
Brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion
Charged on the oath of Robert Brain and others with having at Rendcombe on the 19th day of April feloniously stolen 5 sheep skins the property of the said Robert Brain.
Acquitted. Lives with father and mother, all attend church. No previous record. Orderly (whilst in prison).

Solomon GREENWOOD – Farm Labourer age 21 5’ 8 _” Date of Admission 22 April 1845
Brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion. Scar on the back of right hand.
Charged on the oath of Robert Brain and others with having at Rendcombe on the 19th day of April feloniously stolen 5 sheep skins the property of the said Robert Brain.

Acquitted. Single – lives in lodgings. Character, habits and connections are very bad. Attends church.
Convicted in 1839 for stealing 3 fowls and sentenced to 2 months. Whipped once in penitentiary.

Solomon GREENWOOD – Farm Labourer age 22 5’8_” Date of Admission 16 December 1845
Brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion. Scar on the back of right hand.
Charged on the oath of Richard Howes and others with feloniously stealing a pony carriage the property of Richard Howes.
Note – Thomas Sparrow of North Cerney charged with same offence.
Acquitted. Native of Chedworth. Single. Worked for Mr. Walker of Compton 8 years. Goes to church.

William SCOTFORD – Farmer and Publican age 53 5’9_” Date of Admission 16 December 1845
Dark brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, dark complexion. Lame in right hip from dislocation.
Charged on oath of Richard Howes with having received a certain pony carriage well knowing the same to have been stolen.
Acquitted.
Native of Chedworth. Married one child. Has some land of his own and has kept a beer house for 11 years. Attends church.

John FRY – Labourer age 20 5’9_” Date of Admission 14 May 1846
Dark brown hair, sound visage, light complexion. A scar on left knee, two moles on the nose and one above right eye.
Charged with feloniously, wilfully and unlawfully killing and slaying Peter Curtis of Chedworth.
Tried at summer assizes August 1846. Not guilty. Discharged 12 August 1846.
A native of Chedworth. Single. Farm and manual work for the farmers. Worked for Mr. Ceouch (steward to Lord Eldon) 4 years and Mr. Lane 6 years. Attends church. No previous conviction.

John GARDINER alias William GARDINER – Labourer age 30 5’6_” Date of Admission 20 October 1846
Light brown hair, grey eyes, sound visage, fresh complexion. Two moles on left arm below elbow.
Charged on the oath of James Burrows with feloniously stealing at Rendcombe on the 17 th day of October 1846 two pieces of timber the property of Sir John Wright Guise Baronet.
Guilty – One calendar month hard labour in Northleach House of Correction.
Native of Chedworth married with 3 children. Has worked for last 5 years for Mr. Newman. Attends church.

Thomas GREENWOOD – Labourer age 60 5’ 4 _” Date of Admission 25 November 1847
Brown hair – grey eyes – oval visage – common complexion – large scar on right shoulder – slight flesh marks on right side of left buttock or thigh.
Charged with stealing at Dowdswell a waistcoat the property of William Juggins.
Guilty – 1 month at Northleach. Native of Chedworth. Married with 7 children. Worked for Mr. Kersey of Horsley farm – before that for Mr. Hands at Didmarton. Attends church.

John JOACHIM – Labourer age 38 5’5” Date of Admission 17 November 1849
Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, oval visage, dark complexion.
Several scars on back of neck. Very full chest.
Charged with entering upon certain land called Foley Wood in Chedworth by night on 14 November 1849 armed with a gun for the purpose of taking game.
Tried at Spring Assizes 30 March 1850. Guilty – Transported for 10 years
Native of Chedworth. Married no children. Worked last 6 weeks for Mr. Dyer of Withington and before that for farmer Craddock.

William SCOTT – Labourer age 35 5’6_” Date of Admission 10 April 1854
Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, long visage, fresh complexion. Injured ankles.
Charged with stealing one bushel of flour at Dowdeswell on 8 April 1854 the property of William Robins.
Tried Trinity Sessions 27 June 1854 Guilty – 3 months hard labour in Northleach House of Correction. Removed 5 July 1854.
Native of Chedworth. Single. Has worked for Mr. Selwin of Dowdeswell for 6 months and Mr. Pastow of Notgrove a year. Attends church.
