British Columbia

B.C. went all out with its $56 million pavillion spread out into three buildings over 4.5 hectares. The pavillion stayed after the fair so the architecture of its main building, Discovery, was striking - a 30 metre high galleria of green-tinted glass. the pavillion offered two films: A drmatic aerial flight over B.C. and a day in the life of British Columbians. There were audio-visuals in elevator towers called "discovery trees," non-stop live entertainment, all kinds of art, a live-cum-mechanical show about resources, a marina full of unusual boats, a logging show, business centre, and tourism displays.

A restaurant, Nat Bailey's, was located on the ground level in the Discovery exhibit area. A large gift shop featured some beautiful B.C. arts and crafts.
